Yeah, it would be nice to start the season fresh, with no Champions' League qualifiers to worry about. I'd like another striker on board, but it wouldn't surprise me if they're waiting to see how the Owen situation pans out. He'll not want to hang around at Newcastle for another season without European football, and as long as he recovers in time he'll realise his World Cup ambition, which was the only reason he signed for them in the first place.
Yes, Defoe would proably be too much than what we have currently.

I will wait until the summer before deciding on whether we need another striker, see how the current one's get on first.We all know that the reason that Owen went to Newcastle was for the money and well to get out of Madrid to. I heard a rumour that Owen has a get out clasuse in contract that if Newcastle fail to get into Europe he can leave for a certain amount.
