I would say that some older stuff is much better on vinyl as in some cases it does not seem to transfer to Cd/Mp3 format as effectively and tends to lack in something which sometimes is down to poor re-mastering. The only trouble with vinyl is it can get scratched and jump etc. Some people say though small scratches add to the unique ambience of vinyl. Some Cd's have even had such an effect included purposely to make them sound old.
