Same with me. I have total album fetish and usually frequent the local alternative record store. It's a shame this generation has no concept of the romanticism involved with record stores and albums. To be fair, most conventional albums are not worth buying - lazy all over - but in the old days buying a record was about saving up, queuing up, putting it in the player, admiring the lyrics booklet and admiring all the associated artwork, front cover etc.
Then you listen to your album the whole way through on a pair of headphones and admire all the small nuances and ponder on the making of it. And because you have done so, you can actually have intelligent debates about artists and there albums past
''I really love that song on that ad!''.
Now it's just downloading instant hit satisfaction in the form of a couple of bytes of sound. Wheres the satisfaction in that?
