Default A year ago they were saying how BB needed axing, now it has a legacy and will return

I can just see it now, Channel 4 having a shocking year in 2011 and bringing it back after a years rest. This is how the string of ex housemates saying 'BB needs axing' started.

Quote:
Reality TV star Brian Belo has claimed that the best series of Big Brother are "magical".

Belo also argued that the Channel 4 programme's "legacy" could be seen in shows such as The X Factor.

"I'm watching back series three at the moment to remember why I fell in love with it in the first place. I think a vintage year of Big Brother is quite magical. Hopefully that's something we'll see next year and it will go out with a bang," the series eight winner told DS.

Speaking about the programme's demise, he said: "I think possibly the show got too big. Everyone was talking about it on every platform. Obviously everyone does that now with X Factor, but Big Brother really was the first one to do that. People can say what they want now, but everything stems from it.

"Even the new X Factor presenter Dermot O'Leary is an old Big Brother host. The legacy of Big Brother will be around in the British media industry forever. Plus - I love Jedward - but I think they reinstate the fact that X Factor is a reality TV show and not a serious singing contest."

He added: "I don't think we've seen the end of Big Brother. Look at Doctor Who. That took a well-earned hiatus and came back brilliantly."

Celebrity Big Brother returns to Channel 4 in January.
