Default Gives Me Hope & Operation Beautiful

Earlier today while browsing Facebook, I came across a website called 'Gives Me Hope' (www.givesmehope.com), now some of you will probably of heard of the website '**** My Life' (www.fmylife.com) ... It's the same sort of website, except it's a lot more optimistic.
A lot of the posts on there have made me smile at how selfless people can be, and I was surprised at how many people care about others, although they do receive the acknowledgement inside of knowing they've helped someone.
If you're ever feeling down, it's definitely a great site to look at to bring a smile to your face about someone else's kindness!
Some example posts from GMH:

After my Uncle died, my Aunt had to sell her house to get by. While showing it, a Vietnamese woman saw her surname and asked if she was related to a certain General. When my Aunt said yes, the woman began to cry; that General had personally sheltered her family during the Vietnam War. This woman is now supporting my Aunt until she gets a job. GMH.

Yesterday while I was working, a father with his daughter came in with two bags of toys. He told me they had just come from her 6th birthday party, and I assumed they had a bunch of returns. The girl then proceeded to tell me that instead of getting gifts, she asked all her friends to bring presents to donate to our toy drive. GMH.

When I was four, my doctor told my parents to put me in a learning disabilities school because I would never recover from the radiation therapy I had undergone to treat my leukemia. I got accepted to Yale yesterday. How much my parents believe in me GMH.

22 years ago, a 16 year old girl was pregnant with a baby of rape.

Understanding the circumstances, her parents told her to abort or be disowned.

Her best friend - her 18 year old neighbor - although he was not the father, stepped into the father figures shoes. They got married 2 years later.

Mom and dad, your love for me and each other GMH.

I work at McDonald's and had to work drive-thru last night. Even with my coat and longsleeve shirt, I was still freezing. A woman walked to my window and said "Sweetie, my husband came here earlier and said you looked very cold." She handed me a brand new scarf, hat, and gloves and left. She GMH.

Three days ago, my best friend died.

Two days ago, I found that she was an organ donor.

One day ago, I heard that a nine year old boy now had her heart.

Today, I met that nine year old boy. He told me that because he had my best friend's heart, he'd be my best friend now. My best friend and him GMH.

While reading Gives Me Hope, I came across another site called "Operation Beautiful" (www.operationbeautiful.com)
which is targeted mostly at women, but the fact that all these women (And sometimes men!) go around and stick these notes for people to find and make them feel genuinely good about themselves made me smile too, and made me feel really good about myself!

I hope some of you find these sites as lovely and as inspirational as I did
