That way they could probably get away with putting it on for 6 weeks if the celebs are willing to stay in that long. If it was one or the other I'd rather the regular version kept as there are more than enough celeb shows around, and quite frankly once Big Brother is gone there aren't that many shows around for ordinary people (regardless of singing ability) to get on TV - and certainly none that give the exposure of BB (though that isn't necessarily a bad thing).
I think when it was axed we all pretty much ruled out the BBC as a future home, but Celebrity Big Brother for Comic Relief is certainly something I could see happening in the future - probably when Comic Relief want to get Davina off the main show so resurrect it as a way to keep her sweet!
