I'd say about 1200 people turned up to the Saturday audition in Manchester, and only 300 or so got a yes after the first stage, and even less got a yes after that.
I heard in one of the past BBs that they have a limit of how many applicants to get to the big application stage with the mock Diary Room.
Maybe not a limit, but a general number (550 or something) which means only about 78 people get through to that stage each day at the auditions (Manchester 2days, Dublin, Cardiff, Glasgow, London 2days).
1200 people and only 78 places - that's A LOT of no's!
