The lippy singer’s behaviour has become increasingly odd since he was kicked off Celebrity Big Brother — rivalling that of his barmy namesake, Pete Doherty.
Burns, 46, was evicted from a swish London hotel in his tiger-print underpants over a £12,000 unpaid bill on Wednesday.
Yesterday, sitting in a London jewellers in the same pants, he told The Sun: “People think I’m a dizzy blonde but I’m 110 per cent sane.”
Hours later his lover Michael Simpson, 37, and manager persuaded him to see a doc. A pal said: “Pete’s in a state. Friends have done their best but now he’s getting the treatment he needs.”
Pete, who has seen shrinks before, is divorcing wife Lynne Corlett and selling his London home.
His manager said last night: “It’s been stressful. He’s suffering exhaustion and sleep deprivation.”
