As for the offensive remark by the poster two posts above this one, this is not a case of the government being over accommmodating. It is actually the oposite as it is a government body, the MOD who is objecting to a planning application.
Isolating this community is not the way to defeat the extremists as that plays into their hands, it is integration that is the key to defeating them, as I observed with conversations with the former owner of the Halal take away.

no one is objecting to mosques per se but they do not want one in that specific location. It makes sense in this current climate. If you want a scapegoat blame extremists.
