Have to admit I've never been to Ireland, but always imagined in my head you'd converted to the metric system along with the Euro, so count things in litres
The Werternmost part of Germany is funny - they drink Alt beer in nip sized glasses - so you order a tray of 20 at a time for the assembled folks.........as does everyone else. Makes it tough to keep track unless you keep your coaster after paying at the end of the night then count the number of ticks on it, multiply by 20, divide by the number of people your were with, guess the amout of ml in each glass then convert to pints. Becomes a lesson in arithmetic in itself!
