Broadcasting & Cable is reporting that THQ and Syfy channel have signed a new deal that gives the cable channel exclusive rights to produce a "two-hour, direct-to-television movie based on Red Faction." Sources are saying that if the TV movie does well then there's a chance that Red Faction could become a full-fledged TV series.
"It is the kind of content that fits our genre," said Syfy Ventures senior VP, Alan Seiffert. "It is a great fit for a big Syfy Saturday movie, and if it really works, it is a great back-door pilot."
It also appears, as part of this new deal, that Syfy will be involved with the next Red Faction game in "some capacity." We're not sure what this new involvement or partnership will entail, so we'll have to wait for an actual announcement regarding the upcoming game.
