Not always the case. I remember the year Geminin got 'nil points'.. the UK gave Ireland 12 points that year and everyone was expecting us to give them something, at least. But ye got nothing.
I think because our entry is from Belfast that the UK points for Ireland will be high tonight as Northern Irish votes are counted for the UK.
