In Retrospect: Final Fantasy XIII
A glouriously detailed game, with realistic looking character models and awe inspireing locations, what could go wrong?
1. 78 hours of pressing forward and tapping A/X furious does not equal combat
2. There's nothing to do! I know there are missions, but what is so good about taking a simple "go and kill" mission from a statue
3. There is at most 30 minutes of "village" time, when your not in this village time, you're being attacked or running
4. Character advancement is way too guided
5. Thin story, seriously, for the amout of in game movies in this game, you'd expect there to be a good story, but no
6. You have to read all the important things in the start menu, a very lazy way of storytelling, I want to play a game, not read a book
7. I dont want to waste another 72 hours of...nothing playing through this game, the first two zones last 3 hours each, which is amazingly bad, as they dont really look different as you walk through them
So yeah, in retrospect, I dont think I like XIII as much as I thought I did
