This is something of a 'urban legend' and I watched a documentary on this 'debunking' it all.
Jesse Owens said himself that no such thing happened. He did not try to shake Hitlers hand. Hitler did not 'turn and walk away' and none of that happened.
The other thing people forget is the Jesse Owens CONFIRMED Hitler's beliefs. Nazi's believed that 'Negroids' were closer to animals (had not evolved far from animals),
and,
so they were physically explosive, excellent at running, jumping and for that matter mating.
He also supposed they would be good at labour jobs because of their physical abilities.
Owens running and jumping further than everyone would have only confirmed what Hitler and his cult already believed.
So it's a myth this idea of a black man 'humiliating' poor-sport Hitler just never happened.
