FOR: Why a swap might occur!

BB Aus have wanted to do a swap for ages and have had ex-BBUK HMs guest on the series. They also make several references to BBUK on the official website.

The schedule seems to fit. There is a BB Aus special on Sunday night, and then a BBUK live special on Monday night (Tuesday morning Australian time) - plenty of time for a flight.

The extended Australian show on Tuesday could feature the Australian HM moving into the BBUK house - or the UK housemate moving into the BBAus house live! The UK HM could leave our house on Sunday lunchtime (late Sunday Aus time) during Big Brother's Little Brother.

Also, this year BBUK is facing the toughest ratings war in it's history (and so far, the launch week has outrated all previous series!) - and this week it faces it's toughest battle with ITV1 screening Celebrity X Factor head to head with Big Brother for eight consecutive nights from Monday. BBUK will be raising it's game to make sure the great start isn't overshadowed by The X Factor!

Finally, why it might happen now is that next week the winning "Golden Ticket" housemate will enter the house. These have been selected at random by finding tickets hidden inside Kit-Kats - and thus haven't gone through the usual audition process. Having a passport is not a requirement of entering the Golden Ticket competition, so doing it now would mean it's done and dusted before the Golden Ticket housemate enters the house

AGAINST: Why it just won't happen!

The main argument against is the reasons given three years ago about why BB Africa was chosen.

At the time producers said they swapped with Africa as both series began at the same time, both countries were in roughly the same time zone and the flights were just a few hours. On all these counts, the idea of a UK/Australian swap could be ruled out!

It be unlike BBUK to repeat such a big twist - considering it didn't get an overwheliming response first time around and many thought the twist gave eventual winner Cameron too much of an advantage.

It also seems really early in the UK series to do such a big twist - we are only one week in. However, it's possible that they might do it early so it's less of a factor when coming to determining the winner.

Also, the BBUK live special on Monday could just be replacement housemates for the two who quit last week - and it's probably being done on Monday as it would take attention away from the launch of Celebrity X Factor.

There are rumours now we'll get twin brothers - Marcus and Andrew - but it's unclear whether they'll secretly switch places or just both go in. Another regular rumour is that two former housemates will move into the house - though this doesn't seem like the sort of thing BBUK would actually do.
