Smackdown opens with a funeral scene. Kane came out giving a eulogy to Undertaker. Apparently he's going to be out of action a long time, probably until SummerSlam. Teddy Long said Undertaker was found in a vegetative state. Kane, who was in tears, said he found him and will hunt down whoever it was who did that to Undertaker. The last thing we need is another Kane vs. Rey feud.
Jack Swagger (wearing a University of Oklahoma jersey for easy heat in Dallas) b MVP. Curt Hawkins and Vance Archer beat down MVP after the match.
Vickie Guerrero now likes Ziggler and wanted him as the replacement for Undertaker in the four-way. Teddy Long overrules that and said there will be a Battle Royal for the spot.

Kofi Kingston b Drew McIntyre to keep the IC title. Matt Hardy, who is suspended, had a ticket and was in the front row and distracted McIntyre, causing him to lose. Hardy used a twist of fate on McIntyre after the match.
