We don't know Corin so can't say for definate but I think it's something to do with her husband dying and her recent relationship with a woman.

Any partner's death can obviously cause stress and stress really does affect a person's appearance.

And her use of tanning, make-up etc could be a way of establishing a new persona following her new relationship with a woman. Just a theory, as Shabby presents herself with the make-up aorund the eyes and the peircing on her lip, and Rachel with her glamour, or Ben with his refined shirts etc. It's probably a way fo expressing herself through appearance
