This is what really bothers me about BB these days. Back in olden times, we watched HMs and judged them solely on their actions and words taken at face value. That was when BB was truly a social experiment. But now, as it's morphed into a launch pad for wannabe z-listers, everyone nowadays is judged for the perceived ulterior motives they have because it all ties into what the public thinks of them, which in turn affects their chances of fame post-BB.
So now Corin couldn't possibly just have won Rachael's suitcase back because she's nice - no, she's playing a "game." All romances are faked for the cameras and Heat covers, and they couldn't possibly be expressions of true feeling. Nominees who are upset because they were nommed are just trying to win a sympathetic portrayal in the HL show before the eviction, not because they're genuinely sad or angry. And so on and so on.
Yes, part of the problem is the wannabe-type HMs we've been seeing since about BB6. But we, the viewers, compound the problem by looking at everything so cynically and overthinking everything to the point where it's impossible for us to watch BB for simple entertainment without getting worked up over the games we assume all HMs are playing. I honestly believe we should just give HMs the benefit of the doubt about their intentions and just accept them for who they are without leveling ridiculous accusations of game-playing at the slightest hint of nice, amorous, bitchy, comedic, sad, and any type of behavior. And I think we'll all enjoy BB more for it.
Ok, rant over. Sorry if it was incoherent, I just typed that whole thing out over my phone.
