Extremely patronising - why not boost Steve's confidence by telling him he's win the show on merit by being a nice guy? Treating him as someone to be pitied and thefefore should be the subject of their charity is just wrong.
Totally agree with you, from experience as i am in wheelchair, i just cant stand people pitting me, & feeling sorry for me.
