It's bloody patronising that's why. The whole point of Steve going in the house was to raise awareness for injured servicemen, and to show how well he has coped with the adversity he's had in his life. I doubt he wants to be treated as a charity case and he should NOT win on the sympathy vote either. If he doesn't win Big Brother on his own merit, then I see no reason why the winning HM should have to forfeit any part of their prize money to give to Steve.
As Ben rightly said, all the HMs have a back story and all of them have friends, relatives or good causes they may want to share the money with, and they should not be made to feel guilty or apologetic about it.
