On behalf of Big Brother, I've found this extract online from Basildon Evening Echo

Bubble laps it up...

Children were screaming and hearts were pounding as Big Brother stars Bubble and Paul Clarke cut the ribbon to open a new HMV store in Basildon.

Police were present and security was tight to ensure no-one was crushed in the queue to meet the stars of the Channel 4 eviction programme.

More than 200 locals packed out the store in the Eastgate Shopping Centre to catch a glimpse of the twosome, who caught their attention for several months in the summer on the hit show.

Describing his time in the show, Paul said: "I went in, got nominated every week and left and that was it really."

However, Chelsea fan Bubble said his highlight was injuring his leg as he tripped over the table in a rush to complete one of the competitions set in the house.

He said: "It was great when I hit my leg! But the best time really was when I first went inside the house and met everyone."

During the mayhem Paul and Bubble cut the ribbon and were then led to the back of the shop, and among flashes from cameras, signed many autographs for their admiring followers.

The two, who were also joined by HMV mascot dog called Nipper, were questioned randomly by hoards of fans who were kept waiting in line to get their books, pictures and videos signed.

The pair, who were both evicted by their fellow house-mates on the show, seemed delighted to be at HMV and happy to be in each others company.

Paul said: "Both of us get on really well, and we always have a good laugh, we thought it would be good fun to open the store."

Eastgate Centre Manager Hans Wustefeld said: "For HMV to open at Eastgate is tremendous news and we are all convinced that the store will prove to be one of their most successful stores nationally."
