His own mother who was on BBLB via videolink, when asked whether she thought JJ fancied Josie, she said he probably looked on her as a mother figure. I think that's true because I don't get any vibe from JJ that he's sexually attracted to her but sees her as a comfort figure in the house. Josie on the other hand does fancy JJ in that way, but is astute enough to realise that JJ doesn't view her romantically..
