Like with Chips if I went to a chippy (Not often as I do oven chips at home) I would eat the greasyness with my naked fingers, it's all about the senses, sometimes having a sniff by putting it near me nose before passing it into my opening

I'm really sorry that you think eating wonderful food and drinking great wine in a nice restaurant would equate to "poshness". I think that's all do to with your perception and little to do with the kind of people who might be eating there, and using table manners.
