To be honest it sounded more like she was trying to stop him making himself look bad to the public. Either that or she really does think he is a gentleman. That would not tally with her saying that if her brothers had gone on at Corin like that she would give them what for.
I find Josie a bit confusing at the minute, maybe it is the stress of the impending final.
