You didn't tell us that. You only told us that your conclusion was based on David saying he met her.
'Met her' refers to a one time incident.
'Knew her' could refer to a personal and ongoing relationship but you gave us 'knew her and had met her'.
Do you recall the actual quote in context or is there a clip of this somewhere?
What was the wording used?
Do you find that a lot of things people say and do seem 'weird' and 'inexplicable' to you?
