It may well have been a stupid moment for Dave but I have never once heard any of my friends or acquaintances (even at their most intoxicated, sober or attention-seeking) use their child ,in anything remotely as personal, as a subject for raising a laugh, .. Dave went way over the line.
I think that Dave deserves the feedback he gets to a degree, he seems to enjoy courting controversy, either that or he is a very slow learner.
I do agree that the flak thrown at Dave does go too far sometimes .. unfortunately he is leaving himself wide open for that type of thing every time he repeats these 'mistakes'.

He did go over the line, I'm not arguing about that. I'm sure once Dave knows the strength of feeling of some people, he'll be mortified. Everyone in that house makes mistakes and makes themselves look stupid. Just because he is -for the want of another phrase - "a man of God" it doesn't mean he's exempt from making a tit of himself.
