The format will keep going for many years. It invented the reality tv we're practically forced to watch all the time.
I remember Simon Cowell slagging the show off after Dermot moved to X Factor, saying Dermot shouldn't do both as X Factor is a much bigger show. Maybe with recent viewing figures, but Big Brother led the way for Simon to do Pop Idol and everything so...

But Big Brother as we know it is definitely gone. No matter how many years time it returns, who's presenting it, where it's set etc it will be very different.

I can see channel 5 taking their own Big Brother-esque show for next summer, but not the brand BB specifically. A bit like Shattered or Unanimous that was on a few years ago.
