I think the best place for you to go would be one of the main cities, Dublin, Cork, Galway or Limerick.
Here in Limerick there are lots of flats for rental and they are quite affordable, there are quite a few French people living here and people from many other places, I'm sure it's the same in other main cities.
There are loads of pubs and clubs and shops and stuff. There is usually free wifi in the flats/apartments I think or it's very cheap, if not there are lots of internet shops where you can use a computer for an hour for €1.
Also you wouldn't need to worry about currency because it's the same as yours.
We also have a dock on the river with a cargo thing but Idk much about it.
There are many food places which are usually quite affordable too and there is lots of foreign shops and restaurants along with the Irish ones.
We have a train and bus station and the airport is quite close too.
