apparently they wanted to rest [since they've literally been ALBUM-TOUR-ALBUM-TOUR-ALBUM-TOUR since 2003] and he had loads of stuff he wanted to do, which came to be a solo album. They're likely to have the next album out by 2012 I think, but they have a 'covers' album coming next year I think too
