MTV orders US 'Inbetweeners' pilot

MTV has ordered a pilot for a US remake of The Inbetweeners.

According to Deadline, the show will be an adaptation of the critically acclaimed Channel 4 teen comedy.

Casting for the pilot is now under way. Brad Copeland (Arrested Development) has signed to executive produce the project and stay on as showrunner should the series get picked up.

"The Inbetweeners is one of the best comedies to come out of the UK in years," said David Janollari, MTV's executive vice president in charge of scripted development.

He added: "It's unique and bold, its approach to contemporary teen coming-of-age stories is universal and simply hilarious, and it will resonate immensely with our core demographic."

The creators of the original UK series, Iain Morris and Damon Beesley, will executive produce the MTV pilot with Copeland, Aaron Kaplan and Lauren Corrao.
They've already got an American inbetweeners, That RJ Berger is basically the same thing.

Patrick, no Xenophobic rants about America please.
