This reminds me of the stabbing of Jonathan Zito in a tube station by a schizophrenic who himself was a victim of our totally inadequate and useless mental health service. So called "care in the community" actually means no care at all, and it is quite terrifying to contemplate how many such people are in society, many of whom also have other drug and alcohol problems which exacerbate their underlying mental problems.
