The Z Factor [applications closed!]
The concept: I post a list of all of the acts that made it through to the judges' houses stage of the competition. You, the first sixteen users to read this and sign up, pick one act to roleplay and those sixteen acts will have made it to the live shows. You pick a song they "perform", the judges (me + whoever else wants to be one - more on that later) will give comments and it'll go to the public vote at the end of the show. There will be some special guest celebrity appearances (TiBB members impersonating celebrities; badly [or perhaps well, depending on who they're taking the mickey out of... ha]) before I announce the results. My hope is to have performances and results show of "a week" done in an evening or 2 days, before moving onto the next one, so the "show" won't last very long.
Bolded are taken and cannot be used
* Boys: Matt Cardle, Aiden Grimshaw, Nicolo Festa, Karl Brown, Marlon McKenzie, Tom Richards, Paije Richardson, John Wilding
* Girls: Cher Lloyd, Katie Waissel, Rebecca Ferguson, Keri Arrindell, Annastasia Baker, Treyc Cohen, Gamu Nhengu, Raquel Thomas
* Over-28s: Mary Byrne, John Adeleye, Storm Lee, Wagner Fiuza-Carrilho, Stephen Hunter, Justin Vanderhyde, Yuli Minguel, Elesha Moses
* Groups: One Direction, Belle Amie, F.Y.D., Diva Fever, Husstle, Princes and Rogues, The Reason, Twem
There is no act restriction on who you can pick; so if we end up with 6 girls, 2 groups, 1 over 28 and 7 boys for example, that's fine. It's first come first served; I only ask that you do try your best to take part properly by being online for the shows because it'll be funnier if you can pretend to be your act when the judges are giving comments.
Because it's impossible for everyone to be online for whenever the 'shows' are going to be 'broadcast', I'm just going to post the list of themes here now, so once you've named the act you want to roleplay and I've confirmed that you have got that act - I would appreciate it if you could private message me with your song choices for each week. I'll list out the format at the end of this post.
Applications for contestants: post in the thread with the name of the contestant you wish to play. This is all meant to be a bit of light hearted fun, so the more of a piss take you play the role, the better it is for your chances of winning; bear this in mind for the roleplaying bit.
Applications for judges: private message me. I only need three; and all you need to do is overact the role of the judge you're representing, e.g. Louis: contradict Simon.
Applications for celebrity guest: private message me, this one is more complicated - you need to be willing to record yourself "singing" a current song that you're promoting on the Z Factor, the worse you are, the better, and you need to be parodying someone relevant at the moment... give it a think!
Themes
Week 1 [16 acts] - Songs that have been done to death on the X Factor and make you want to die
Week 2 [14 acts] - Make Michael Jackson turn in his grave week
Week 3 [12 acts] - There is no obvious theme, but everyone seems to have dyed their hair
Week 4 [10 acts] - Big band week. In other words, sing a modern song but replace the backing track with a saxophone and suddenly it's "genius"
Week 5 [8 acts] - Songs that guarantee one of the favourites is eliminated in a shock elimination
Week 6 [7 acts] - Songs that mean something to the act you're representing, preferably in a sob story sort of way
Week 7 [6 acts] - Try and offend the most demographics week; old, young, gay, straight, black, white, man, woman, transgender - everyone is fair game
Week 8 [5 acts] - Murder a Beatles song week, and sing a Westlife song because it's the only way to keep Louis happy
Week 9 [4 acts] - Big shouty/teary/diva ballad, and a "sexually ambiguous song" theme - includes unusual changes of personal pronouns, and ignorance of underlying song meaning
Week 10 [3 acts] - Sing a summer song that's been styled in a Christmas way to make Brian the choreographer seem quirky and relevant; sing a song the act has already done in the competition [probably Michael Jackson] just to put the nail in the coffin for their career; and sing the winner's song which will be announced closer to the final.
Get applying!
