My cat killed a mole once - he is a ferocious hunter, and I often get gifts of rabits, squirrels, pigeons, water voles etc. But his mole was huge - far bigger than my cat. He usually has a really good go at eating his prey - but the mole was untouched. I have since found out that this is common, because they taste very bitter
