Why are you so obsessed with Ben's sexuality? Are all gay men supposed to be attracted to each other or are they like other human beings who have preferences, types etc? You seem to think that if Ben were gay he SHOULD have welcomed Mario's advances? Does he not have the right to choose who he wishes to be with? Your assumption seems to be that gay people should get with each other simply because they are gay. That to me is a kind of inverted homophobia since it demonstrates quite clearly you think gay people are different from straight people emotionally and morally, ie anyone will do!
