Maybe it is some 'relative comparison' you want to make? IF we were at a Karaoke pub night thing then you could say Katie 'sounded great' (compared to other drunks and first-timers and silly fun time amateurs),

If you mean she 'sounded great' compared to most X-Factor contestants then wow.

She did really well with them both, "Sex On Fire" was amazing, I was well impressed actually. Thought she'd murder it, but she performed and sang great.
Everyone has different opinions of her, so you can't really say my opinion is wrong. :/
