I can see both point of views on this one, Michael has said a number of times that he feels uncomfortable the way Rich speaks around him which is a fair point because if he does thats up to him no one else can tell but i can't see why he says Richard hasn't made him feel welcome because Rich isn't really that sort of guy he always makes people welcome from what i've seen, to be honest though i can always see these two clashing their both gay but so different.
