The remarks are specific to Gamu and her circumstances and background. Where she comes from they do often have to walk miles with a pot of water on their head. So I can reference it if I please.

If you're not able to mock someone a certain way in real life don't say it all anyway.
Before you go on about me talking about Cheryl everyone that knows me knows how I feel about her. I was at a wedding on saturday and what I say about her, I said about her there when xfactor talk popped up on the table. I doubt making reference to pots, and mangy water would be taken lightly. Even in a room full of white people there might be just that one that gets offended. Making fun of things in someone's culture is never a good thing, whether a rich country or not, even less so when the things you are making fun of are things that can't be helped at the moment and bring tragedy and hardship daily.
Making fun of Mary working at tesco, or her weight, or calling John James skippy is not the same as poking fun of the hardship of a country.
