Cheryl joins her on stage. If she just stood there rigid like a plank, she'd have been criticised for that too.
She doesn't try to take over the stage, it's Cher's moment, Cheryl tries to move to something that's simply not her style, because the person she has mentored asked her to join her on stage, and gets ripped for even doing that.

Well I don't know about anyone else but personally I like Cheryl, I just thought she looked really embarrassing on stage, dancing like a mum. It was sweet of her to join Cher on stage though.
