Because you do this with every single member. You did it with MeMyselfandI, you did it with Raph, you did it with Twilight. Stop nitpicking with people - as far as I remember, when I registered on the site I didn't have to tell everyone who my friends are, where I'm from or what my gender is.
I think it's a bit rich for a forum which thrives on anonymity to be so pressing to people who ARE open (albeit weren't to begin with
