Whatever about personal opinions on the story but I really, really hate this default soap defense line of 'challenging social issues'. Phil Mitchell didn't wind up on Crack because the EastEnders crew had a burning need to inform the public about the dangers of Crack Cocaine. Phil Mitchell ended up on Crack because the EastEnders crew had a burning need to put Phil Mitchell on Crack.
