Cool  . What has happened this season because in the last last you were that close to getting promoted if it weren't for Leeds leaving it till the last minute after reducing their big gap from the rest during the middle of that season.

Thats the problem - which top quality players are going to want to join them in their current state? Not many.
We were very close to going up last season - we were still in with a chance on the last day of the regular season at Millwall. At one point when we went 1-0 up we were in 2nd place but then of course Leeds turned it around and both Swindon and Millwall had to settle for a play off place.
Made it to the final of the play offs at Wembley where we were deservedly beaten by a decent Millwall side, but may have been different if it wasn't for the Wembley turf as that cost us an equaliser near the end of the match. A real let down of a day, not just the result but the whole Wembley 'experience'.
As for this season...lost our captain, lost 29 goal top scorer to Leeds, and lost a loanee who scored 9 from midfield in half a season - and haven't replaced them. Manager is coming under a lot of pressure.
