[edit] FormatThe show will follow a similar format to Channel 4's Big Brother. Nominations, evictions, etc. will all remain largely the same apart from a few differences.
[edit] Standard FormatEach house-guest will be given a identity (i.e. name, job, background) apart from one. If this one person discovers the secret he will be automatically in the final. It will remain unknown to all house-guests as to who is the real house-guest. It is expected there will be more twists surrounding this.
[edit] Nominations and EvictionsEach house-guest will choose 2 house-guests they wish to stay. After nominations are completed the two house-guests with the lowest amount of nominations will be up for eviction. The house-guests will then face a public vote in a vote-to-evict. The house-guest with the highest amount of votes will be evicted in front of a live studio audience. [2]
[edit] ProductionThe show is slated to take place over 55 days in Summer 2011, beginning on June 10th. [3] RTÉ have not yet confirmed the launch date or end date of the show however.
[edit] The HouseThe house itself is rumored to be currently under renovation somewhere near Balbriggan, Co. Dublin. The house is due to contain at least 38 cameras. [4] IKEA, Dublin are said to be providing furnishings and fittings for the show. [5]
[edit] BrandingThe shows logos were released by the RTÉ TV Sales website in mid-January but were removed 2 days later. [6] The two logos released were the house logo (above), and a camera logo (right).
Camera logo[edit] MusicThe theme for the show will be produced by SoundBank, which is located in Dublin.[7]
[edit] BroadcastThe show, which is set to take place in Summer 2011 is due to comprise of one 45 minute episode each night for the entire run on RTÉ Two. A 25 minute spin-off show, The House: Through The Window, is set to be broadcast daily on RTÉ Two also with The House: In The Attic, a 45 minute fan-based show slated to be broadcast every eviction night. It is not yet known who will front these shows, although people such as Brian Dowling and Dustin the Turkey have been rumored. As well as this, a live feed is due to be available on RTÉ's RTÉ Player website and via the RTÉ Player's iPod and iPhone apps. [8]
[edit] AuditionsAuditions have yet to be confirmed, although it is though they will take place from mid-February. However, it is known that they will take place by auditionees sending RTÉ audition videos over the internet.[9]
