MTV has confirmed a premiere date for its adaptation of cult '80s film Teen Wolf.
The new series, which will star Brothers & Sisters actor Tyler Posey as werewolf Scott McCall, will debut on June 5.
The show will follow high school lacrosse player Scott as he is attacked by werewolf Derek (Tyler Hoechlin) and discovers that his life has changed forever.
Skyline star Crystal Reed will also appear as Scott's love interest Allison, while Dylan O'Brien will play his best friend Stiles.
Series star Posey previously claimed that the new Teen Wolf will be "a lot darker than the [Michael J. Fox] movie", while executive producer Jeff Davis revealed that the series will focus on the battle between werewolves and hunters.
The first episode of Teen Wolf will air immediately after this year's MTV Movie Awards.
