Our reporting laws are so much better than those in America, where media coverage is to all intents and purposes unrestricted.
How is a jury pool selected? Will this case ever get to a jury? Will that jury decide on the evidence presented at the trial?
Should trials be reduced to laywer tactics and presentation? As for the bail issue it does seem to work against the ethos of "Innocent until proven guilty", I believe bail is rejected if their is sufficient reason to suggest the person is a flight risk or danger to himself, other people or witnesses. I'm not a lawyer so I could be wrong, that does sound adequate.
