He spoke only to confirm his name and address to magistrates in Redbridge, north-east London. The hearing has been adjourned until 22 February.
Mr Tweed appeared with younger brother Lewis, 20, and friend Mark Wright, 24, who are accused of the same crime. No pleas were entered and all three men were released on unconditional bail.
