He's good as in skating abilty but he definately lacks the pazzazz to give out what I'd consider to be classed as an 'entertaining' performance. He's got no 'oomph', no vigour, no excitement, no passion, no real feeling, when he is on the ice.
It's like watching a singer with an incredibly good voice, belting out powerful songs - but standing there like a wet blanket with no expression, no body movemnt. Great to listen to, but a lot is lost watching the performance.
In the case of DOI - it's essential. Being able to skate well is only element of what's required to give out an entertaining performance.
