If anything the letter had more of an effect on the other housemates likle Michael he felt really guilty because he was being off and set out to get him since he went in not knowing about his mother. The fact even the press and papers were unaware of this also makes it better.
His letter was emotional but he isn't making it into a huge matter so I don't think we should either, he isn't the first person to have an ill family/friend member and sure wont be the last but the way he has handled it in the background has been amazing.

Sure, it's admirable that he has been so strong. But, he's still done some awful things in there and the fact that his mum was ill doesn't make them alright or even justified.

lol, you making out like he's killed someone, apart form making bitchy comments i dont think he's done much else wrong.
I think the shabaz incident has been blown all out of proportion, if you are going to call Richard a bully for that, you can call all teh otehr housemates bully's as well.

I called sezer a bully in that incident, and some others, don't remember their names, but they've all been evicted/walked now.
