As was said, he didn't want the Film 2011 job. He said that he thought he didn't have enough of a mainstream sensibility for it and prefers radio anyway.
I don't think he would have been able to continue the Five Live show if he did Film 2011 so I am glad he didn't get it. Mayo is a good foil for him on the radio.
