C5 move Vanessa to boost flagging ratings 2 March, 2011

Channel 5 is to reschedule daily chat show The Vanessa Show in a bid to up its audience figures.

The show, hosted by Vanessa Feltz, has aired in an 11am slot since its launch on 10 January.
But from Monday 7 March it will move to 2.15pm after Home and Away, in the hope it will inherit a strong audience from the popular Australian soap.
The later slot allows C5 to air the Tuesday and Thursday editions of The Vanessa Show live, with Feltz’s broadcasting commitments for the BBC meaning the other three episodes will remain pre-recorded.
The Vanessa Show, made by Princess Productions, has been averaging 100,000 viewers (1.8%) since it launched on 10 January. It effectively replaced Trisha Goddard’s show in the slot which drew an average of 206,000 (3.7%) in the three months to 17 December.
A C5 spokesman said: “Through the audience research we have carried out, it was felt that The Vanessa Show would work best in a mid-afternoon afternoon slot
