Yes, I think you're absolutely right, Dizzy. The subsequent series just do not compare. BB1 and BB2 were very intense viewing experiences. You really wanted to see what would happen next and your were desperate for any news about the housemates. I think it's also fair to say that the housemates were with a few exceptions treated better by the media. It wasn't uncommon to see a housemate on the cover of a magazine or a newspaper. Nowadays it seems that the housemates are generally treated with contempt by people; which is a shame really. I think what's happened is that a lot of the novelty and the innocence has gone from Big Brother. The glory days of BB1 and BB2 are long gone.
